Families of high school students in Indiana want their children to receive the best education possible. Sometimes that looks like a traditional classroom; for others, that looks like pursuing a path free of distractions. Hoosier students seeking an alternative to the regular school experience can receive a high school diploma through an online high school.
Virtual Prep Academy of Indiana is a tuition-free, state-approved online school that allows students in grades 9–12 to meet graduation requirements with the support of certified teachers, all from the comfort of home.
Why Choose an Online High School Diploma?
Traditional school settings may not fit many Indiana families' rhythms or unique needs. Students may deal with anxiety or bullying. Others may face health concerns or have work or extracurricular commitments that make traditional school schedules impossible. Online high school provides the structure and support they need, but with built-in flexibility to accommodate these unique needs.
Virtual Prep Academy of Indiana empowers students to learn independently, but with real-time instruction and one-on-one support. Thanks to personalized learning plans, online learning works differently for each student.
Evaluating Online Diploma Quality and Acceptance
Online diplomas aren’t all created equal. Choose an accredited program to ensure your diploma is recognized and respected by colleges and workplaces. Virtual Prep Academy of Indiana is a state-accredited online public high school, which means our diploma meets the educational standards set by the Indiana Department of Education.
High School Graduation Requirements in Indiana
Indiana’s high school graduation requirements are currently in limbo as lawmakers debate changing the high school experience. These new rules go into effect for the class of 2029, and don’t affect current students already in high school as of 2025. For now, students must earn 40 credits and meet additional graduation pathway requirements. Core coursework for Hoosier high school students includes the following:
- English Language Arts: 8 credits
- Math: 6 credits
- Science: 6 credits
- Social studies: 6 credits
- PE and health: 3 credits
- College and career pathway courses: 6 credits
- Electives and other coursework: 5+ credits
Graduation Pathways demonstrate postsecondary readiness and help prepare students for life after high school, whether that’s a career or college. No matter what the path ahead may look like, VPREP Indiana helps students meet all credit and pathway requirements through flexible, online instruction.
